COLD EXPOSURE - Group Sessions
The Cold Exposure Crash Course is 2hrs in duration yet you can enjoy the Ice Bath , Sauna and combined facility's at Good Life Dacha from 9am - 10pm using your Day Pass. We start the course by discussing Wim Hof's incredible story of becoming “The Ice Man” aka the man who climbed Mount Everest with no cloths on. Wim is currently in the Guinness World Book of Records 25 times for achieving superhuman feats that you really have to see to believe. It was 26 World Records yet the new Record for Cold Exposure is over 4hours in direct contact with ice. Among other things Wim has played a key role in proving “under clinical study” that we as a species can control our Autonomic Nervous System, raise our core temperature and bounce off disease and infection with the power of the breath and the mind.
During the introduction and demonstration we discuss the various health benefits of incorporating Cold Exposure into your daily routine and show you every trick in the book so you do not feel extreme shock or pain when entering the ice bath on your first dip and how to use Cold Exposure safely and effectively in more extreme conditions.
The techniques are designed to make your blood alkaline and release your natural pain suppressants (adrenaline, opioids, cannabinoids) so the whole experience should be shockingly comfortable and incredibly enjoyable for everyone who participates. This is especially true for those of you who are very sensitive to the cold who emerge at the perfect, warm , tingling temperature.
We start with a partial submersion, followed by a full submersion (up to the neck) into the Ice Bath which is kept at 0-5 degrees celsius. Everyone is unique so we will teach you how to listen to your body allowing you to practice Cold Exposure safely and affectively as you quickly adapt to the high stress environment and experience climatization / habituation. The first plunge is roughly 2-3minutes followed by a second plunge which can be between 1 - 7 minutes. If you stick to the method you should not gasp for breath upon entry and it should feel like there is a barrier between you and the Cold. Then once you have climatized to the chilly environment a secondary sensation should come over you as you create the "thermal - layer". It should feel like there is a blanket of warmth covering your entire body as ginormous amounts of bliss chemical are released (Dopamine 250% above baseline) as you discover the Ultimate Off Switch and rediscover your true potential.
The fact is, we are all designed to thrive and survive in the cold and the heal benefits of incorporating Cold Exposure into your daily routine are literally endless. Its part of our mission to give you all the tools you need to heal yourself and enhance your life and this is right at the top of the list. Why? Well on some days , training hard and practicing Breathwork can bring some relief yet the moment you stop breathing or training your thoughts and feelings will go back to whatever track they are currently set on. Personally I dont care how busy someones mind is or how negative their habitual thought process has become. When you step into the ice bath on your second dip the cold shock reponse will catapult you into the moment and clear your mind and catapult you into the present moment. Better still is this healing modality has a delayed fuse allowing your mind to stay clear and focused for a long period of time after existing the Ice Bath with your baseline Dopamine count sitting 250% above baseline for 2-3 hours after you finish the cold plunge.
My Story
Personally I hate being cold, I always have. Since a young age I've always found myself shivering when everyone else around me seems to be nice and toasty, so the truth is when I first started practicing Cold Exposure 5 years ago I truly loathed the experience for the first few weeks and was ready to give up. Then I began to experiment with a variation of different breathing techniques and one morning I experienced climatisation. My body felt like it was at the perfect, warm, tingly temperature whilst standing under the freezing cold water. Since then, I have never looked back and I have not stepped into a doctors office since to report the chronic back pain and stomach issues that dumbfounded my doctors for over 25 years. The truth is , I cannot say that "Cold Exposure healed me" because I'm practicing with multiple healing modalities at any one time, yet what I do know is on a few particularly dark days all the Breathwork , training and meditation on earth could not switch my mind off yet jumping into muddy , freezing cold rivers in the UK winter worked every single time. In those moments I realised "no matter what comes my way in the future , I can clear my head and find inner peace and stillness using the ice"
Bill Smyth.

WIM HOF
Wim is a super hippie from Holland whom from a young age was naturally drawn to the cold. Later in life he found that when jumping into frozen rivers and lakes the impact of the cold instantly shut off his mind and took him into a state of deep inner peace.
It was later on in life that Wim realised his daily practice gave him superhuman capabilities. Wim can heat up his body even whilst submerged in Ice and he can heal his body at an incredible rate using the WHM breathing and meditation techniques! After 40 years of practice and having initially been labelled as a “charlatan - scientific/medical anomaly - nut job ” by The Mainstream Medical Community and branches of the Mainstream Media Wim began to shine a light on his superhuman abilities as he broke world record after world record. Wim holds 25/26 World Records including the longest time in direct contact with ice (until recently) and he is the first person to Climb Mount Everest without any clothes on.
“The Wim Hof Method” book, details the science behind Breathwork and Cold Exposure and documents the incredible healing benefits it can have with a heavy enthuses been placed on the fact that both healing modalities drastically reduce inflammation. The book also offers a practical guide to multiple breathing techniques that do all sorts of things like “increase endurance” or “cure chronic pain”. After reading up on Wim and following his incredible career the one things that stands out the most is the fact he can teach his method and pass on his incredible healing abilities to regular people.
In one major clinical study with 16,000 participants Wim was injected with E. coli yet he was the only one who showed zero regular human reaction to the bacteria as he practiced his method and literally bounced off the infection. Once again, he casually broke the laws of classical physics and the scientists and doctors labelled him as a "one-off scientific anomaly". This is despite the fact Wim has a genetically identical twin brother that doesn’t possess these trained abilities. The Medical Group then invited Wim to teach his method to a group of Case Studies (human beings) and they went on to perform the impossible as they all bounced off the disease under clinical study. These are regular people, not master meditators or yogis that all broke and bent the rules of classic physics and displayed our true human potential after just a couple of weeks of training.
Over 300 years ago Sir Isaac Newton essentially set the rules of the universe and limitations of human beings in stone. He believed that we are slaves to our genetic destiny. Yet there is now new information supported by hard science and countless case studies of regular people doing the impossible . They are breaking and bending the rules of classical physics, curing the incurable and drastically enhancing their lives by practicing Breathwork and Cold Exposure.
"You can regulate your heart rate, harness the chi and regulate your body temperature with the power of the mind. It's so easy to do, you've just never been shown how."
